About me & my stroke

OK!

This is my attempt at a website, so cut me some slack!

All this is done with 1 finger, on my left hand.

I want to show you that you can have a reasonable “Disabled” life, even when you can be majorly disabled like me.

Ok. So there are things you cannot do & you have limitations, but challenge yourself, within your limitations obviously. You will achieve more & a satisfactory “New” life is possible.

I had 2 strokes on Sunday, 7th March 2004. I was 42.

The technical term is Ischaemic, or Infarct. It was discovered through an angiogram that I had a bleeding inside the lower part of the brain, the brain stem. This is responsible mainly for balance & co-ordinating muscle movement. It can be brought on by Hypertension, Heart disease, High cholesterol, Diabetes, Obesity, Family history of strokes, which there was none. To name but a few. I hadn’t suffered from any of these. I was fit & healthy, or so I believed. I was a little stressed from running my own business, but I thought that was normal. The stroke I had was not the normal stroke. So I was told.
